Police took down the barriers in front of the UK High Commission in Delhi today, a few days after a pro-Khalistan protest at the Indian High Commission in , where the Indian flag was taken down. Officials from the Delhi Police said, though, that security outside the UK High Commission remains the same.

“The security measures in front of the British High Commission are still in place. But barriers that were put up on the way to the Commission and made it hard to get there have been taken down “Press Trust of India heard this from a senior police officer.

The British High Commission wouldn’t say anything about the situation. “We don’t talk about security issues,” a representative told.

People from Khalistan took down the Indian flag in front of the building in London to protest the arrest of Khalistani leader Amritpal Singh. Seeing pictures of a man ripping down the national flag made the whole country mad, and people were angry on social media.

The Indian government has strongly protested and asked the British government to make sure the Indian High Commission has enough security. India had asked to see the British deputy high commissioner on Sunday. The foreign ministry said it wanted to know why the Indian mission in London had “no security at all.”

Top British officials said that the UK government will take the security of the Indian High Commission “seriously.” They also said that the vandalism at the Indian mission was “disgraceful” and “completely unacceptable.”

On Saturday, the Punjab police started a huge operation to catch Amritpal Singh. They arrested more than 100 members of his “Waris Punjab De” group and people who supported him.

Since a few years ago, the separatist leader has been active in Punjab and is often seen with armed followers. He says he is a follower of Khalistani separatist and terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. His supporters call him “Bhindranwale 2.0.”
