When Exercise Dosti was over in Male, the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) ships Samarth and Abhinav docked in Galle.

The official Twitter account for India in Sri Lanka, @IndiainSL, tweeted about the arrival, stressing that the ships were there to train and work with the Sri Lankan Coast Guard to improve communication and teamwork.

“The Indian Coast Guard has sent Samarth and Abhinav to Galle! “After finishing #ExerciseDosti in Male, the ICG ships are going to Sri Lanka to train and work with the SL Coast Guard to improve their ability to work together and get along,” the ICG said in a public post on X.

India’s visit shows that it is serious about improving maritime relations and making ties with Sri Lanka stronger. The Indian and Maldivian coast guards worked together and trained on Exercise Dosti, which took place in the Maldives. The training focused on maritime security and rescue missions.

With the Indian Coast Guard ships now in Galle, both countries are ready to work together even more on marine issues. The goal of training sessions and professional meetings between the Indian and Sri Lankan Coast Guards is to improve how they work together and understand each other during maritime operations.

The fact that Indian Coast Guard ships are in Sri Lanka not only helps the two countries work together, but it also shows how important it is for the region’s maritime security and safety. Both countries want to improve their skills and be ready for new maritime problems in the Indian Ocean region. They do this by working together on exercises and exchanges.

India and Sri Lanka have had a good relationship for a long time. The visit of the ICG ships Samarth and Abhinav to Galle shows that they are still committed to keeping the seas safe and secure.

On February 24, training on #PollutionResponse and #MARPOL took place onboard @IndiaCoastGuard ship Samarth as part of the joint operational activities of trilateral exercise #DOSTI XVI. This was reported on the Indian Coast Guard’s official Twitter account. Responses to pollution using booms to contain it and skimmers to clean it up were shown.

The Indian and Sri Lankan Coast Guards are working together to make the seas around the region better and more secure. This should happen as their training and professional interactions continue.
