Army Chief Talks About How Important Synergy In Assessing Threats, Policy Initiatives, And Responses

Monday, Army Chief Gen. Manoj Pande talked about how important it is to have synergy when it comes to correctly assessing threats, figuring out what military capabilities are needed, making policies that make them possible, and coming up with the right responses.
His comments at a seminar put on by the Centre for Land Warfare Studies came after a long standoff with China in eastern Ladakh and a recent fight between Chinese and Indian troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh.
An official statement said, “The Army chief spoke about the importance of synergy to correctly assess threats, communicate important strategic guidelines and documents, identify the desired military capabilities, develop enabling policies, reach the required preparedness metric, and take the right actions, all of which are in line with overall national security objectives.”
In his speech, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan talked about how important the armed forces are to national security as part of the “whole of government” approach.
“He emphasised that all defence initiatives should be coordinated so that government programmes like Aatmanirbharta, vibrant border villages, Gati Shakti, and the national logistics policy can help each other,” a statement said. This would make the defence system more ready.
“Civil-Military Integration: The Way Forward” was the title of the seminar.
