India-US Commitment To Safeguard “Open, Inclusive” Indo-Pacific Affirmed: US Envoy Eric Garcetti

Eric Garcetti, the US ambassador to India, said that India and the US have taken important steps to strengthen their defense partnership. He also said that the two countries are committed to promoting a strong and rule-based international order to protect the “free, open, and inclusive” Indo-Pacific.

He also said that the ministers of both India and the US talked about the current conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East during the India-US 2 2 Ministerial Dialogue.

At an event in the nation’s capital, Garcetti said, “I think the joint statement (2 2 Dialogue) shows that both countries are determined to support a strong rules-based order to protect a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific through the Quad and other metrics, as well as global issues.” The ministers talked about the terrible humanitarian effects of the war in Ukraine and the Middle East. They reaffirmed their support for Israel’s fight against terrorism and worked to ease the suffering of civilians and follow international humanitarian law.
