An Indian Air Force (IAF) Hawk trainer plane crashed at the Kalaikunda airbase in West Bengal while it was on a regular training mission. Both pilots were able to safely jump out of the plane, which prevented a disaster.

There have been no reports of civilian deaths or property harm.

An IAF release said that a Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been set up to find out what went wrong. The COI will look into many parts of the event, such as whether there were technical problems or mistakes made by people.
