The defense ministry gave the go-ahead for an order for indigenous area denial munitions. These will make Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers even more deadly, able to destroy enemy tanks, armored vehicles, and people.

The Indian Army already uses the Pinaka system, which was made in India. It has been slowly replacing systems that were brought in from Russia. It has also gotten orders from Armenia, and the new weapons will make it even easier to sell its goods abroad.

It is said that the order for nearly 6,500 Area Denial Munitions (ADM) made by the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has been approved. The deal is expected to cost more than Rs 2,500 crore.

The order will be split between Munitions India Limited (MIL) and Economic Explosive Limited (EEL), which are economic development partners of DRDO. The two companies will soon put in bids for the business, and the order will be split 60/40 in favor of the lower bidder.
