Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Ensures Armed Forces’ Readiness For Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’

Story Highlights
  • The Border Security Force (BSF) has done a good job of putting together the resources needed for rescue missions.
  • The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put out a Red alert, which is a very serious warning, for the coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat.

As hurricane “Biparjoy” moves toward Gujarat’s coast, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh went over how ready the Armed Forces are to deal with the storm.

“Talked to all three Service Chiefs and went over how ready the Armed Forces are for storm ‘Biparjoy’ to hit land. “The Armed Forces are ready to help civil authorities in any way they can with any situation or emergency caused by the cyclone,” Singh wrote on Twitter.

According to Sub Divisional Magistrate Parth Talsania, about 4,500 people have been moved to shelter homes as a safety step before cyclone Biparjoy hits the coast near Jakhau. On the evening of June 15, the cyclone is likely to hit land and move across the Rann region toward Rajasthan.

Inspector General Ravi Gandhi of Gujarat’s Border Security Force (BSF) went to the seaside areas of Bhuj to check on what was being done to lessen the damage caused by Cyclone Biparjoy.

He also looked at how ready the BSF was to deal with any problems that might come up as the cyclonic storm moves from the Rann region to Rajasthan.

Cyclone Biparjoy is likely to go all the way across the border between India and Pakistan. Along with their main job of keeping the border safe, the Border Security Force (BSF) has done a good job of putting together the resources needed for rescue missions.

Due to storm Biparjoy, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put out a Red alert, which is a very serious warning, for the coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch in Gujarat.
