DRDO Chairman Samir V. Kamat said that India will start sending out ground systems for the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile in the next 10 days. The missile parts should be sent out by March.

Samat said that the Philippines should get their first set of BrahMos missile systems by the end of March.

“The missiles should get to the Philippines by March, and the ground systems should be sent in the next 10 days.”

The Philippines bought BrahMos weapons from India. This is the largest defense deal India has ever made with a foreign country.

Exports will be very important in the defense field, according to the head of the DRDO. “I am sure over the coming years exports are going to become a very important part of our portfolio,” he stated.

“So far, a lot of our hull-mounted sonars, lightweight torpedo, we have exported radars, we have now a lot of interested (countries) on Pinaka among others,” the DRDO official stated.
