Rajnath Singh To Attend ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting Plus In Indonesia
- According to the ministry, Singh will meet with the defense ministers of the other countries that are taking part in ADMM-Plus and talk about ways to work together
- The ADMM-Plus ministers have been getting together once a year since 2017 to improve cooperation in regional security.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will go to Indonesia for two days to attend a meeting of a group of 10 countries called ASEAN and some of their discussion partners. The meeting is meant to talk about how regional security is changing. At the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus), Singh will probably talk about how India plans to deal with the tough security problems in the area.
The United States, China, India, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, the Republic of Korea, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are the eight countries that talk with ASEAN on a regular basis.
“Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will pay an official visit to Indonesian capital Jakarta from November 16 to 17 to attend the 10th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus),” said the defence ministry.
“During the meeting, which will take place on November 16, the defence minister will address the forum on regional and international security issues,” it stated in a release.
As chair of ADMM-Plus right now, Indonesia is holding the meeting.
According to the ministry, Singh will meet with the defense ministers of the other countries that are taking part in ADMM-Plus and talk about ways to work together on defense problems.
India joined ASEAN as a discussion partner in 1992, and the first ADMM-Plus meeting took place in Hanoi in October 2010. The ADMM-Plus ministers have been getting together once a year since 2017 to improve cooperation in regional security.
