Strength In Recovery: Army To Procure 170 Armoured Recovery Vehicles

The Indian Army started the process to buy 170 armored recovery vehicles (ARVs) on Tuesday. This will help the army do its job better. Officials said that the ARVs will be bought as part of the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India) programs.
Tuesday, a request for information (RFI) or the first bid to buy 170 ARVs was sent out.
The RFI says that the ARVs will need to be able to work in different kinds of weather and on different kinds of terrain, including high-altitude hilly areas.
They will also have to work in all kinds of weather, day and night.
Most of the time, the ARVs help fix and rescue disabled Armoured Fighting Vehicles.
