Army Helicopter Carrying 5 Crashes In Arunachal; 2 Bodies Found

On Friday, two dead bodies were found at the site where an army helicopter with five people on board crashed in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Reports say that an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) with a built-in weapon system crashed near the village of Migging.
The crash site is not near any roads, but army sources say that three air rescue teams have been sent there, and two of them have already arrived. Part of the wreckage is shown on the screen to be on fire.
The army people were on board the helicopter, which took off from Likabali this morning on a normal mission. At 10:43 a.m., the crash happened.

The only way to get to the village by car is over a hanging bridge, so three teams from the army and air force are working together to save the people. One Mi-17 and two Dhruv helicopters are being used in the rescue operation. Villagers from the area are also said to be helping to save people.

This is the second time in October that a helicopter has crashed in Arunachal Pradesh. This month, a Cheetah helicopter crashed near Tawang. The pilot died, and several other people were hurt.
The ALH (WSI), which is also called the Rudra Mark IV, is a powerful attack helicopter. It was made by the state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to fill very specific roles in the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force.

Between March 2017 and December 2021, 15 military helicopters were involved in accidents that killed 31 people. These accidents involved four ALH helicopters, four Cheetah helicopters, two ALH (WSI) helicopters, three Mi-17V5 helicopters, a Mi-17 helicopter, and a Chetak helicopter.
There were a total of 15 accidents, and 14 people died in one of them on December 8, 2021, near Coonoor. The crash killed then Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika, and 12 other people in the military.
During the time period, accidents happened with seven helicopters from the Indian Army, seven helicopters from the Indian Air Force, and one helicopter from the Indian Navy.
