Terror Attack In J&k’s Rajouri Kills 4 Civilians And Severely Injuring Others

Sunday night, a terrorist attack in a village in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir killed at least four civilians and hurt many more. Officials said that a search operation was set up to find and stop the terrorists.

Three people were said to be dead when they were taken to the hospital, but a fourth person died later from their injuries.

Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director General of Police for the Jammu zone, said that two “armed men” shot at civilians in the upper Dangri village, which is about eight kilometres from the town of Rajouri.

Police sources say that AK-series rifles were used in the attack on civilians from the minority group. They also said that it is very likely that terrorists came from the thick forests behind these houses to do this.

One of the seven people hurt in the incident died later from their injuries, bringing the total number of deaths to four.

Dr. Javed Chaudhary, who is in charge of emergency medical services at the Government Medical College and Associated Hospital in Rajouri, said that the people who were hurt had been shot.

Former J&K chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad spoke out against the attack and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

The terrorist attack in a village in the Rajouri district was strongly condemned by the Jammu and Kashmir Congress. The party said that the incident is “very serious” and doesn’t back up the government’s claim that security in the Union Territory has gotten better.

“The Congress is very angry about the attack by terrorists in Rajouri. “This is a very serious and shocking event that contradicts what the government and security chiefs say about how things have improved on the ground,” the party said in a statement.

Former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah also said that what happened was wrong and that he was sorry for the people who died.
