The tests conducted over the past two days involved a high-speed target, showcasing critical parameters of maximum range and maximum altitude interception.

The Ministry of Defence stated that these development trials demonstrated the consistency of the hit-to-kill capability of the weapon system across various target engagement scenarios, including approaching, receding, and crossing modes.

VSHORADS is a Man Portable Air Defence System that has been indigenously designed and developed by the Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in conjunction with other DRDO laboratories and Development cum Production Partners. The three Services have been involved with the project from its inception and participated in the developmental trials.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has commended DRDO, the Armed Forces, and the Industry for their successful development trials. He stated that this new missile, equipped with advanced technologies, will enhance the Armed Forces’ capabilities against aerial threats.
