Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, who is in charge of the Northern Army, visited forward areas of Ladakh on Tuesday to check on tactical readiness for the winter and the progress being made on building up border defense infrastructure.

The President of the United States will attend the Foundation Day events in Leh on October 31.
The President will meet with troops at Siachen Base Camp on November 1. She will also go to the dinner in Leh that is being held in her honor that same day.
The President will also meet with SHG members and tribal people from the area.
On Monday, cops and the army stopped a terrorist from crossing the Line of Control (LoC) in the Keran sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The terrorist was killed.
