Rajnath Singh Urges Troops: Learn From Mistakes To Safeguard Countrymen

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Wednesday that troops keep the country safe, but mistakes do happen, which should not. He seemed to be referring to the fact that three civilians were found dead after being held by the army to be questioned. Singh came to Jammu and Kashmir earlier in the day to check on the security situation. He said that it was up to the troops to win over the hearts of the people while doing their job to protect the country.

The government of Jammu and Kashmir said on Saturday that the families of the civilians who died would be getting money and work. They also said that the medical and legal procedures had been completed and that legal action had been begun in the case.

The army has asked for a “thorough internal investigation” into the deaths of civilians and has promised to fully back and work with the investigators.
