The Indian Navy said that from November 10–13, the INS Sumedha will be visiting Walvis Bay in Namibia as a sign of friendship.
In a post on the social media site X, the Indian Navy said that cross-deck visits took place during the journey.
“INS Sumedha will be in Walvis Bay, Namibia, from November 10th to November 13th as part of an ongoing extended range operational deployment.” “There was interaction with senior #Namibian government officials, military officials, and cross-deck visits,” the Indian Navy wrote on X.
The welcome on board INS Sumedha showed how close the friendship is and how it’s growing. It was a special event because the Walvis Bay Mayor, dignitaries, top officers of the Namibian Navy, Heads of Diplomatic Mission, guests, members of the Indian community, and the media were all there.
A lesson on Yoga and Ayurveda was also held in Walvis Bay, which is a port city. Members of the Namibian Navy joined the team of INS Sumedha and did Yoga at the Indian Naval Ship with them.

During the Indian Naval ship’s port call, there was also a medical camp in Walvis Bay where older people could get care and treatment.

INS Sumedha, a Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel that was built in India, took part in the first India-EU Joint Naval Exercise 2023 from October 24th to 26th. The exercise took place in two parts: first, on the sea, on October 24, and then in the harbor from October 25th to 26th, 2023, in Tema, Ghana.
