AK Magazines, Cash Recovered As Indian Army Shoots Down Pak Drone At LoC

Officials say that on Thursday, the Indian Army shot down a Pakistani drone and found five loaded AK magazines, some cash, and a sealed package near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Lt. Col. Devender Anand, a spokesman for the defense department, said that the army saw a moving object in the sky along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri’s Beri Pattan area between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. After that, the security forces started a large cordon and search operation (CASO) and tracked the movement of a drone.

“The progress of the drone was tracked and it was brought down. Five AK clips with rounds in them, some cash, and a sealed package have been found,” he said.

He also said that the army had started looking around the area.

On April 9, the Indian Army stopped a major infiltration in the Poonch region. One intruder was killed and two others were caught alive.

The security forces also found three bags with 14 packages of drugs weighing nearly 17 kg, Pakistani currency notes, some papers, and food.

During the night between March 31 and April 1, the Border Security Force (BSF) shot down a Pakistani drone along the international border in the Ramgarh area of Samba.

Last month, an IED went off near a border police post in Sanyal, which is part of the Kathua district and is next to Hiranagar.

In October of 2016, the Indian Army put water jammers at the Line of Control (LoC) to stop drones from Pakistan.
