An Indian Air Force (IAF) Hawk trainer plane crashed at the Kalaikunda airbase in West Bengal while it was on a regular training mission. Both pilots were able to safely jump out of the plane, which prevented a disaster.
There have been no reports of civilian deaths or property harm.
An IAF release said that a Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been set up to find out what went wrong. The COI will look into many parts of the event, such as whether there were technical problems or mistakes made by people.
A Hawk trainer plane from the Indian Air Force had a crash today while on a training mission at Kalaikunda, West Bengal. Both pilots got out of the plane safely. To find out what caused the accident, a Court of Inquiry has been set up. “There was no loss of life or damage to civilian property,” the IAF’s official X handle wrote.
The Hawk training plane is an advanced jet-powered trainer that is used by many air forces around the world, including the IAF. The Hawk, which is made by BAE Systems, is meant to help pilots get ready to fly high-performance fighter planes. Because it has a cockpit with two seats next to each other, an instructor pilot can fly with a trainee and help them during training trips.
