Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) has successfully completed the base maintenance of the rudder on an IndiGo Airbus A320 aircraft, marking another important achievement for India’s aircraft maintenance sector. The work was carried out at the company’s Delhi base maintenance facility, demonstrating its capability to handle specialised maintenance tasks on critical flight control components.
The rudder is one of the aircraft’s primary flight control surfaces, responsible for maintaining directional stability during flight. Because of its importance to safe aircraft operations, maintenance activities involving the rudder demand rigorous inspections, structural assessments, and adherence to internationally accepted engineering standards.
