IAF Selects Apollo Micro Systems for Indigenous Precision Range Extension Kit

The Indian Air Force has selected Apollo Micro Systems for development of an indigenous Precision Range Extension Kit program, marking a significant step in the service’s effort to enhance the stand-off range and accuracy of its unguided munitions across multiple airframes.

The selection underscores the IAF’s commitment to reducing dependence on imported precision guidance solutions and accelerating the timeline for indigenous systems integration. Precision range extension kits convert unguided bombs and rockets into semi-autonomous or GPS-aided weapons, enabling aircraft to strike targets from standoff distances while minimizing exposure to enemy air defences.
