When asked about the Indian Tri-service contingent at this year’s Bastille Day Parade in France, Indian Navy Commander Prateek Kumar said, “It is a great feeling not only for the armed forces but for all of India that we have been represented at the Bastille Day, a prestigious event of the French government.” We’re glad to be here as part of a group from the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force.

On Monday, the Indian Army shared a video of the marching contingent on Twitter and wrote, “Participation of the Indian Armed Forces Contingent is a sign of the more than a century-old bond between both the Armies and the Nations.”

The Indian Army tweeted, “It reminds us of the bravery and bravery of the Indian soldiers on French soil during the World Wars.”

Colonel Thierry of the French Air Force said, “When my troops and I are working, we will look at your Prime Minister and our French President (on Bastille Day Parade). We are about 30 meters away from them, so this is a very emotional moment… So it’s a lot to take in.”

Captain Anthony works at the Guerrilla Warfare Training Center. He is happy to welcome Indian forces and is looking forward to marching with them on Bastille Day. Rafales from the Indian Air Force and the French Air Force are practicing over Paris to get in sync for the July 14 Parade.

The Ministry says that the partnership between the Indian and French Armies goes back to World War 1. During the war, more than 1.3 million Indian soldiers joined the fight. Of these, about 74,000 gave their lives and about 67,000 were hurt in the dangerous ditches. These brave Indian soldiers also fought bravely on French territory.

This year is important because the Strategic Partnership between the two countries has been going on for 25 years. India’s and France’s forces have worked together in joint exercises and built strong ties by sharing their military knowledge. Over time, the two countries have become reliable defense partners, which has strengthened their relationship.
