On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the Uniform Civil Code is part of the Directive Principles of the Constitution of India and that the Opposition is exaggerating the problem by calling it “politics of vote bank.” Last week, the opposition parties criticized the Law Commission for asking the people and religious groups what they thought about a UCC. This made Singh respond. Singh was talking to a group in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on the day that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the Center had been in power for nine years.

“Our country’s guiding principles include the Uniform Civil Code (UCC). Why fight about this? It is already being used in Madhya Pradesh and Goa. “I applaud Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami ji for taking the lead in this direction,” he said, adding that the Law Commission is now asking people from all over the country what they think about the issue.

He criticized the opposition by saying, “They are exaggerating the problem by calling it vote-bank politics.” He sent the opposition a strong message by saying, “Politics shouldn’t be done to form a government; it should be done to build a society and a nation.” “Hindus, Muslims, and Christians are all related. Many Muslims also vote for us, but some people only spread false information. “You need to stay away from these people,” the Defense Minister said.

“We want everyone to get along here, and we’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen,” he said. Earlier in the day, Rajnath Singh touched upon some of the path-breaking decisions of PM Modi-led government at the Centre, including Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat & abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir, besides India’s brave fight against COVID-19 pandemic and measures to get rid of the colonial mindset while instilling the feeling of pride in Indian heritage, traditions & values among the people.

Singh also talked about the steps that have been taken to empower women, such as building pucca houses with toilets in rural areas and making sure that women have the same chances as men in every field. He talked about the decisions made to give women a bigger part in the Armed Forces. He said that girls could now go to Sainik Schools and that female officers were being sent to Siachen Glacier, the world’s highest battlefield, and to warships. He also said that work is being done to make the country completely safe for women and to give them many chances.

The Raksha Mantri said that the Government is committed to building an India that is fully self-reliant in the defense sector and has state-of-the-art weapons and technologies. He did this by laying out the plan for India’s Swarnim Bhavishya from a military and security point of view. He talked about the work that is being done to give young people in the country lots of chances to become defense scientists and help their country.
