The five-day Aero India 2023 event ended on February 17, when planes and helicopters put on one last show for a full house.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the Aero India 2023 on February 13. It was the biggest airshow that has ever been held in Bengaluru.
The Ministry of Defence says that the event, which was held at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka on an area of about 35,000 sqm, was the biggest one ever and that 98 countries took part.
The first two days of the airshow were for business. There was a Defense Ministers’ Conclave, a CEOs Round Table, a Manthan start-up event, and a Bandhan ceremony. The last two days were open to the public, and the highlight was aerial displays.
At the event, 809 defence companies, including MSMEs and start-ups, showed off their technologies. The defence ministers of 32 countries, the air chiefs of 29 countries, and 73 CEOs of global and Indian OEMs were there.
The goal of the Bandhan event, which took place on February 15, was to make and keep business partnerships. At the event, 266 partnerships were made, including 201 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), 53 major announcements, nine product launches, and three Transfers of Technology. Together, these deals were worth about 80,000 crore.
MoUs were signed between Gopalan Aerospace India Private Limited and Omnipol of the Czech Republic for a private company in India to make and assemble the first passenger aircraft (version L 410 UVP-E20), and between HAL and Elta Systems Limited of Israel for future business cooperation in maritime patrol radar for Indian platforms.
Officials, delegates, and CEOs from 26 countries, including Boeing, Lockheed, Israel Aerospace Industries, General Atomics, Liebherr Group, Raytheon Technologies, and Safran, took part in a CEOs’ Round Table that happened at the same time as the air show.
Light Combat Aircraft (LCA)-Tejas, HTT-40, Dornier Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), Light Combat Helicopter (LCH), and Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH), Rafale, Sukhoi-30 Mki, B-1, DC-3, F-16, F-35, Dakota DC-3, Harvard Trainer, Surya Kiran aerobatics team, and Sarang helicopter display team were all part of the air show.
On static display were the Anti-Arm Decoy, the Apace AH-64, the C-130J, the C-30 Millennium, the F/A-18, the Hawk-I, the Hawker 800, the L39 Albatross, and the Tango Sierra TS-1003 (UAV).
