Ukraine’s Strike On Moscow-Controlled Village Kills 5, Injures 19
- Ukraine didn't react right away, but Kyiv almost never says in public that it is responsible for attacks on Russian-controlled land in Russia or Ukraine.
- In the 15-month war that Russia started in February 2022, both sides say they did not try to hurt people.
On Wednesday, a coordination center set up by Moscow said that Ukrainian shelling of a town in the Russian-controlled area of Luhansk in east Ukraine killed five people and hurt 19.
The center said on the messaging service Telegram that Ukrainian troops had attacked a chicken farm in the village of Karpaty with HIMARS rocket launchers.
Reuters was not able to check the story on its own. Nearly all of the Luhansk area in Ukraine is under Moscow’s control.
