Moscow Claims Ukraine Launched Failed Drone Attacks On Russia Overnight

Russia’s defence ministry said on Tuesday that Ukraine tried to attack civil infrastructure targets in two southern Russian regions with drones overnight, but the attacks failed.

The Ukrainian government didn’t say anything right away.

“Overnight, the Kyiv government tried to attack civilian infrastructure in the Krasnodar and Adygea regions with unmanned aerial vehicles,” the defence ministry said in a statement.

It said that its defences against drones had stopped the attacks, which caused the drones to go off course and not do any damage.

“Both of the drones got out of control and went off their planned flight paths. “One hit a field, and the other went off course but didn’t hurt the intended target,” the report said.

Earlier, Russian state news agencies had said that a drone had spotted a fire at an oil depot in the Krasnodar region, which is about 240 km (149 miles) south-east of the Crimean peninsula.
