Made-In-India Prachand Combat Helicopters Take War Games With Army, Doing Well: IAF pilots

The Prachand Light Combat Helicopter started playing war games with the Indian Army just a few months after it joined the Indian Air Force. It does very well in these games.

The Prachand Light Combat Helicopters joined the Air Force on October 3 of last year. Since then, they have flown a lot in the desert sector.

Squadron Leader Raunak Dubey of the Indian Air Force’s Dhanush squadron said, “We are doing integrated exercises with the Army, and we are fully prepared and ready to help the Army if there are any future conflicts.”
He said that the helicopter is used a lot in the desert area and is doing very well.

“We have flown this helicopter a lot in our unit, and we are very impressed with what it can do because it has met all of its goals. Its jobs are to help ground troops from the air and destroy enemy air defences “he said.

Sq Ld Dubey said that the Prachand is one of the most powerful combat helicopters in the world. It has air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, as well as a 20 mm gun canon and a 70 mm rocket pod.

“During tests in high altitude places like eastern Ladakh and the Siachen glacier, it did very well. Its navigation system makes it easy for pilots to find their targets and blow them up “he said.

Squadron Leader Tanmai Manan said that the LCH-1, which was made in India, gives India an advantage over other attack helicopters because it can carry more weight, is quiet, moves quickly, and can turn quickly.

“The helicopter is easy to control and quick to react. The airframe has been made so that it can handle a crash. LCH is the only combat helicopter that has been tested on the highest battlefield in the world. It can carry weapons that can kill and destroy many different targets at heights of more than 6 kms “he said.

Group Captain Deepak Vishnoi, who was in charge of the squadron, also showed off how well the helicopters could fly as they took off for a mission over the nearby areas in the desert sector.

The Weapon Systems Integrated ALH Dhruv helicopter squadron is also based at the Jodhpur air base. Their job is to destroy enemy armoured vehicles when there is a war, which is why they are called “Tankbusters.”
