Some people in the community say that an Israeli soldier of Indian descent, 34 years old, was killed this week during fighting in the Gaza Strip, which is run by Hamas.
The funeral for Master Sgt. (res.) Gil Daniels from Ashdod was held at the military cemetery in his hometown on Wednesday. He was killed in Gaza on Tuesday.
That Gil was one of the soldiers killed in the Gaza Strip fighting was confirmed by the Israel Defense Forces.
Many of Israel’s best sons and daughters who fought for the honor of the whole country have died in this cruel and violent war. It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Master Sgt. (Res.) Gil Daniels, 34, who served in the Israel Defense Forces and was the son of Yoel and Mazal.
“On October 10, not long after the war began, Gil joined the reserves. The message said, “May his memory be blessed.”
The School of Pharmacy at Hebrew University is where Gil got his Master’s degree.
I thought he was brilliant and fun to be around. No changes made to the original sentence. Friendship Tirza Lavi told him, “What a loss!”
Gil learned at Makif Gimel High School and graduated with the class of 2007. He is a member of the Bene Israel community and is from the Maharashtra region of India.
“We in the 61st group of the class of 2007 are deeply saddened by his death……..The person Gil went to school with said, “All of his friends will always remember his smile.”
People say that since the IDF started its operation on the ground in Gaza, 86 Israeli soldiers have died in battle. Between October 7 and October 11, at least four Israeli soldiers from India have been killed.
