An official statement says that the Indian Army is helping the Indian Air Force (IAF) with logistics for the planned mega exercise Gagan Shakti 2024. This shows how the different parts of the armed forces can work together.
From April 1 to 10, the 10-day program is set to happen.
The drills will take place in different parts of the country, including the western and northern fronts. But fighter planes and helicopters taking off from different parts of the country will fight fake targets in Rajasthan at Pokhran Field Firing Ranges.
In order to test the IAF’s Operational Rail Mobilization Plan (ORMP), the Indian Army managed the movement of around 10,000 IAF troops and weapons across the whole country.
As part of the operational plan, this meant making and facilitating a train move plan from different clusters across India for both outbound and incoming trips. The following help has been given by the Indian Army.
According to the statement, starting March 25, the Indian Army is providing 12 scheduled passenger trains with all amenities, such as meals and beds, at Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Kanpur. These trains will go to different places across the country in three days.
‘Sanyukta Express’ trains are what the passenger trains are called to show that they work well with other services. The dates of their return trips have been set for April 2024.
The Indian Army’s Movement Control Organizations (MCOs) make sure that there is communication and help with movement. The MCOs on their way have been told to keep an eye on movement in coordination with a Control Cell set up at Army Headquarters. This is something that will be done during operations, the statement said.
Also, two ammunition trains are being built so that ammunition can be sent from warehouses to the practice areas.
Putting and connecting railroad coaches to fast trains has made it easier for smaller groups of soldiers to move around in other ways as well.
