Indian Army Places Order for 1,500 Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUVs

Nearly 1,500 Mahindra Scorpio Classic SUVs, which just came out, are said to have been ordered by the Indian Army. The news was shared on Twitter by Mahindra Automotive. The Army has placed the order for its 12 units, according to the tweet.

“We’re happy to say that the Indian Army has ordered 1,470 Scorpio Classics for 12 units all over the country. We appreciate the Indian Army’s trust “Mahindra said this in a tweet.

Chairman Anand Mahindra replied to the post with “Jai Hind…”

Some early reports said that in 2021, bulletproof windows and firing ports for small arms were seen on Army Scorpios that were being tested on the road. A few years ago, at Defense Expo, Mahindra also showed off a version of the Scorpio that was made for the Army.

Scorpio and other Mahindra vehicles are already used by the Indian military, including the Indian Army, for both war and peacetime purposes. In areas where there are rebels, the Army also uses the Tata Xenon and Sumo, the Mahindra 550 jeep, the Force Gurkha, the Maruti Ciaz, and the Swift Dzire, as well as some special light armoured vehicles.

In August of last year, Mahindra put out Scorpio Classic. The front view of the new SUV has been changed. This meant that the headlights, DRLs, foglights, front bumper, and grille all had to be changed.

The Scorpio Classic has an engine that is 2.2 litres. The SUV comes in two different styles: the S and the S11. The prices for the two types of Mahindra Scorpio Classic are Rs 11.99 lakh and Rs 15.49 lakh.
