India sent a military heavy lift airplane with about 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief supplies to the Palestinians on Sunday. The ministry of external affairs (MEA) said the people were hurting because of the war between Israel and Hamas militants.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) sent a C-17 plane from Ghaziabad’s Hindon airbase station to Egypt’s El-Arish airport with about 38 tons of aid. The aid included life-saving medicines, surgical supplies, tents, sleeping bags, tarps, toiletries, water purification tablets, and other important things.

Also on Saturday, about 20 trucks brought medicine and some food, like tuna in a can and pasta, into Gaza from Egypt’s Rafah border crossing.
But UN officials say that Gaza needs at least 100 trucks a day to meet pressing needs, and that any aid that is sent there should be steady and on a large scale. Reuters noted that before the fighting, several hundred trucks were usually coming into the enclave every day.
It has been hard to open Gaza’s only border crossing that isn’t controlled by Israel because Egypt, Israel, and Hamas all need to agree on it. For as long as Rafah has been closed, Egypt and Israel have put the blame on Hamas and each other.
Narendra Modi, the prime minister of India, talked to Mahmoud Abbas, the president of Palestine, earlier on Thursday and told him that he was sorry for the attack on the hospital that killed over 500 people. During the talk, PM Modi reiterated India’s long-held stance on the Israel-Palestine problem and expressed deep concern over the rising violence, terrorism, and lack of security in the area.
The war began on October 7, when Hamas militants attacked in a way that had never been seen before. The Islamic terrorist group is facing a huge counteroffensive from Israel. In Israel, more than 1,400 people were killed and at least 210 were captured. It is said that during the Israeli attack that followed, 4,385 Palestinians were killed in Gaza.
