Officials said on Wednesday that the INAS 312 squadron, which flies P8I aircraft and is based in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu, has logged 40,000 hours, marking the end of a decade of different navy operations. They said that the first P8I had arrived at INS Rajali on May 15, 2013, and that Capt. H. S. Jhajj was the first Commanding Officer.
“INAS 312, also known as “Albatross,” has been at the forefront of all naval activities. In the last 10 years, P8I has led activities in the air, on the ground, and below the ground. A top Navy officer said, “The Squadron has been doing a great job protecting national interests as the first responder in the Indian Ocean Region.”

The Navy also sent out pictures of the plane through Twitter.
“The INAS 312 squadron that uses the P8I has flown it for 40,000 hours, and it has been used in a wide range of naval operations for the past 10 years,” the official said.
The INS Rajali is an air station for the Indian Navy. It is in Arakkonam.
