In the most recent development, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government is willing to make changes to the Agniveer recruitment plan if they are thought to be necessary. He said this during his speech at the Times Now Summit.
Singh said that his government is “open to change” the way they hire Agniveers if that’s what it takes.
Singh talked about how important it is for the defense forces to have young people while supporting the Agniveer plan.
Singh said, “Sena mein youthfulness honi chahiye (There should be youth in the Army)” to show that he thought the defense forces needed young people. I think the young people are more excited. They know more about technology. We’ve done everything we could to make sure their future is safe too. If changes are needed, we will also make them.
It is important to know that under the Agniveer plan, new recruits serve for four years, with six months of training and then 3.5 years of deployment.
When they leave, they can apply to stay in the military.
In support of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” the Union Minister also said that the central government wants to make India a country that exports engines.
“Because we want to make engines in India now, I asked DRDO to look into what kinds of engines can be made there and which countries are willing to share their technology.” We want India to be a country that sells engines abroad. It will be Indians who build the engines, he said.
Singh said that the country’s borders are safe, even though the opposition says China has taken over Indian land.
“We must have full faith in our army. The Defense Minister also said, “I want to reassure my people that our country and its borders are completely safe.”
