The Kalyani M4, which will be produced at the company’s Pune plant, is a multi-role platform that is designed to suit the needs of the armed services for swift mobility in difficult terrain and in places where mines and IEDs are a hazard.

Its design, which is based on a flat-floor monocoque hull, provides ballistic and blast protection against side blasts of up to 50 kg TNT, IEDs, and roadside bombs. The vehicle has a payload of 2.3 tonnes and an operating range of around 800 kilometres, with a thrust speed of 140 kilometres per hour.

The M4 is a South African arms company’s original product that has been fine-tuned for Indian conditions by Bharat Forge. In addition, the two companies have agreed to combine their technology, capabilities, and expertise in order to produce armoured vehicles in India.

The M4 was designed to be the “future of protection” in all markets, according to Paramount Group.
