COAS General Manoj Pande Meets Australian Defence Force Chief, Army Chief, Discusses Defense Cooperation

General Manoj Pande was given a Guard of Honor on Thursday at the offices of the Australian Defense Forces (ADF). He met with Australia’s Chief of the Defence Force, Angus Campbell, and Australia’s Chief of the Army, Lt. General Simon Stuart, to talk about how the two countries could work together on defense.

General Manoj Pande is in Australia for four days. Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army) tweeted, “General Manoj Pande #COAS received a Guard of Honour at the HQ Australian Defence Forces #ADF. #COAS interacted with Lt Gen Simon Stuart, @ChiefAusArmy, and discussed aspects of defense cooperation.”

In a tweet, General Simon Stuart talked about the meeting and said, “It was a pleasure to host my Indian colleague, General Manoj Pande, this week. As this was our first face-to-face meeting since taking on our new jobs, it gave us a chance to talk about ways to get the Army more involved and our bilateral efforts, such as our recent success with Ex Austrahind.

In a tweet, the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army) said, “COAS Manoj Pande met with Major General Richard Vagg, Head of Land Capability, and Lt Gen Greg Bilton, Chief of Joint Operations.

He also went to the Australian War Memorial and laid a wreath at the Last Post ceremony. “General Pande met with Australia’s Chief of the Defence Force Angus Campbell, Vice Chief of the Defence Force David Johnston, and Air Marshal Robert Chipman to talk about ways to improve defense cooperation between the two countries.

Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army) tweeted, “#COAS interacted with General Angus Campbell @CDF_Aust, VADM David Johnston @VCDF_Australia, and Air Marshal Robert Chipman @CAF_Australia and discussed ways to improve existing #DefenceCooperation between both the Armed Forces.”In a press release, the Ministry of Defense said, “Australia-India defense cooperation has been going in the right direction, with a number of different engagements at different levels and in different areas.”

These include, among other things, visits by top officers from both countries, exchanges of courses of instruction, and training exercises.”It also said, “The ever-growing defense cooperation engagements, which cover a wide range of activities, have brought the two Armed Forces closer together.” The COAS’s trip to Australia will make the trust and understanding between the two forces even stronger.
