India Showcases Women Power In Armed Forces At World Defence Show In Riyadh

Squadron Leader Bhawana Kanth, Colonel Ponung Doming, and Lt Commander Annu Prakash are three women military leaders from India who are at the World Defense Show in Riyadh.

The five-day big event started on February 4 and showed off the newest developments in defense technology. It was also a great way for companies from all over the world to work together.

The defense minister said, “The fact that these three outstanding women officers went to the World Defence Show shows that Indian women are becoming more important in the defense world.”

Fighter pilot Squadron Leader Kanth was the main speaker at a seminar on Wednesday called “International Women in Defense: Investing in an Inclusive Future.” The session was put on by Princess Reema bint Bandar Al-Saud, who is the Saudi ambassador to the US.

The Squadron Leader told moving stories about how she broke down obstacles and flew through the sky.

The diverse group of people who heard her talk about leadership, courage, and the changing role of women in modern war were moved by her story, the ministry said.

She is the first woman fighter pilot to march in the Republic Day Parade in 2021.

Colonel Doming is the first woman officer to lead the world’s highest border task force, which is above 15,000 feet in the Northern region. In her more than 20 years of service, she has achieved many firsts.

The ministry said that as an engineering officer, she has been in charge of many difficult tasks.

At the World Defense Show, Lt Commander Prakash of the Indian Navy showed how knowledgeable she is about operations and marine security.

The ministry said in a statement that her presence showed how important women are for protecting India’s long shoreline and keeping the region safe.

On Thursday, the three were going to talk at the International Indian School in Riyadh about their amazing trip.
