Tuesday marked the conclusion of the four-day military exercise “Udarashakti” with the Indian Air Force, which was hosted by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (IAF). Seven aircraft from each Air Force flew in formation during the ceremony. The contingent leaders reportedly swapped keepsakes at the event, according to the Indian Air Force (IAF). An IAF unit arrived in Malaysia on August 12 to participate in the bilateral air exercise Udarashakti with the Malaysian Air Force.
Su-30 MKI and C-17 aircraft from the Indian Air Force and Su-30 MKM aircraft from the Malaysian force both participated in the air exercise, according to a news release from the Indian Ministry of Defence. It should be noted that this was the first bilateral training exercise between the Indian Air Force and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

The fact that the first iteration of the exercise was successfully finished, according to the IAF, is further evidence of the professionalism, commitment, and understanding shared by the two Air Forces. It further disclosed that the IAF contingent will now go to Darwin, Australia, for Exercise Pitch Black 22, which will be conducted alongside the Royal Australian Air Force of Australia (RAAF).

Ex Udarashakti will expand defence cooperation opportunities between the Air Forces
The RMAF base in Kuantan was the Indian contingent’s final destination, according to the press release. According to the press release, the military exercise will give IAF contingent members the ability to talk with some of the best RMAF professionals about their shared combat skills and share best practises. Ex Udarashakti would bolster the two Air Forces’ established alliance and increase their chances for defence cooperation, boosting regional security, it was said.
Notably, India and Malaysia have friendly relations and frequently cross paths at summits. India and the Federation of Malaya, which would later become Malaysia, established diplomatic relations in 1957. India and Malaysia have improved their defence ties over time.
Additionally, on August 7, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh discussed a wide range of subjects with his Malaysian counterpart Hishamuddin bin Hussein, including bilateral, regional, and industrial collaboration. Rajnath Singh thanked Dato’ Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein on taking over as the Senior Defence Minister in August of last year over a video conference, according to a statement provided by the Ministry of Defence
Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy lays wreath at National War Memorial in Delhi
The Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Mohd Reza bin Mohd Sani, also laid a wreath at the National War Memorial. Even at South Block, the Admiral was welcomed with a guard of honour.
