Top Naval Commanders To Assess Maritime Security In 3-Day Delhi Conclave

Top commanders of the Indian Navy will start a three-day conclave on Monday to discuss India’s maritime security issues and ways to improve cooperation between the three services. This comes as China’s military moves in the Indian Ocean region become more aggressive. Officials say that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan, Army Chief Gen. Manoj Pande, and Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari will talk with the naval leaders at the conference in Delhi.

The Navy said that the meeting and “embedded interactions” with the NSA, chiefs of the Army and the Indian Air Force would also be used to analyze the operational environment, talk about tri-services synergy, and check the readiness of the maritime forces.

The naval commanders’ meeting is the most important event that happens every two years. It gives naval commanders a chance to talk to each other and make important policy decisions.

The top leaders of the Indian Navy will look back at the most important operational, material, logistics, human resources, training, and administrative actions from the last six months.

It was also said that the meeting would talk about the direction to take in the coming months.

In a statement, the Navy said, “The conference also gives naval commanders and senior government officials a chance to meet regularly and work on a number of cross-ministerial projects to create a safe and secure maritime environment that is important for the overall economic growth of the country.”

It said that the Indian Navy’s operations in the last six months have been “intense” and have taken place “from the Atlantic to the Pacific.”

The Navy said that the forum will do a thorough review of the Navy’s tactical readiness, with a focus on how well the weapons and sensors on naval platforms work.

“The commanders will also review the ongoing naval projects, with a focus on increasing indigenization through “Make in India” in line with the vision of achieving complete “Aatmanirbharta” by 2047,” the Navy said.

On the side of the meeting, the Indian Navy plans to show how it uses its own resources, comes up with new ideas, and works on tech projects.

The Indian Navy said, “Various HR initiatives to improve quality of life will be looked at, as well as the progress made to find and get rid of outdated practices.”
