Six Months After Indian Strikes, New Satellite Images Reveal Pakistan’s Slow, Ongoing Repairs at Key Military Bases

Fresh imagery shows Pakistan still restoring damaged runways, hangars, and operational buildings months after India’s precision strikes.

Six months after India carried out targeted precision strikes on multiple Pakistani military installations, new satellite imagery indicates that Pakistan is still working to restore several of the affected sites. The slow pace of reconstruction suggests the strikes caused deeper structural and operational damage than initially acknowledged.

The latest images, reviewed by defence analysts, highlight repair activity at several key airbases that were hit during the operation. At some locations, damaged hangars have been dismantled, while at others, groundwork and foundation-level repairs are visible. Analysts note that the rebuilding effort appears uneven, with some bases showing rapid progress and others still in the early stages of clearing debris.

One of the most significant findings is the continued restoration work at strategic airbases located in Punjab and Sindh provinces. These bases were central to Pakistan’s air surveillance and quick-response capabilities. The new imagery shows resurfacing of runways, reconstruction of protective shelters, and renewed installation of radar infrastructure – all essential elements for restoring operational readiness.

Defence observers say the prolonged recovery timeline reflects both the extent of the damage and the financial strain on Pakistan’s defence budget. Rebuilding hardened structures such as blast-resistant hangars and command-and-control centers is resource-intensive and requires considerable technical planning.

Experts also believe Pakistan’s reconstruction efforts indicate a priority to re-establish deterrence after the May strikes. While the country has attempted to project normalcy, satellite evidence points to the reality that several bases remain partially functional or entirely offline.

India, meanwhile, continues to monitor these developments closely. Officials maintain that the strikes were aimed only at neutralizing specific military threats and restoring strategic balance in the region. With Pakistan still engaged in long-term repairs, the regional security environment remains dynamic.

As the reconstruction progresses slowly, defence analysts anticipate that Pakistan may take several more months to fully restore the affected facilities and regain complete operational capability.
