Rajnath Singh Claims That India Will Have A Joint Tri-services Theatre Command

In order to improve military force coordination, Rajnath Singh, the Minister of Defense, announced on Sunday that a joint theatre command of the three services will be established.

In order to honour the Indian Armed Forces martyrs, he was speaking at an event put on by the Jammu Kashmir People’s Forum.

We have chosen to establish joint theatre commands in the nation, Singh added, “keeping in view (joint actions as seen in Operation Vijay in Kargil).

The Air Defence Command and the Maritime Theatre Command are likely to be launched by May 2020, though it will take the commands two years to become fully operational, according to HT’s report from February of last year, when India was set to start the initial roll-out of its long-awaited theaterization plan. The government fully supports theaterization.

In order to fine-tune the theaterization plans and involve all stakeholders, particularly the Indian Air Force, in a quick roll-out of the new joint structures, the government established an eight-member panel in June 2021.

An official claimed that the long-awaited theaterisation model of the Indian military will be flexible enough to fall back on the current command and control systems to handle any exigency during the transition period. It may take up to five years for theatre commands to stabilise, thus it is crucial to make sure there is a method to quickly revert to the situation before theaterization if a crisis arises while the restructuring is taking place.

In a tribute to the martyrs, Singh added that the nation must never forget the ultimate sacrifice they made to preserve the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

He declared that society and the general populace had a responsibility to show the martyrs and their families the utmost respect.

“Do whatever you can to help their families out. Each citizen has a responsibility to “Added he.

India is fast transitioning from being the world’s top importer of defence equipment to an exporter, according to the defence minister.

“India was the biggest importer in the world (of defence products). India, one of the top 25 countries exporting defence goods today, but not the world’s greatest importer “He emphasised.

According to Singh, the nation started exporting defence goods worth $13,000 crore and has set a goal to grow that amount to $35,000 to 40,000 crore by 2025–2026.
