Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Along LoC in J&K’s Lipa Valley, Indian Army Responds Firmly

Unprovoked firing by Pakistani troops in Lipa Valley triggers strong retaliation from Indian Army; no casualties reported.

In a fresh provocation along the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire late on October 27, 2025, by targeting Indian Army positions in the Lipa Valley sector of Jammu and Kashmir. According to defence sources, the firing began with small arms and was later intensified with mortar shelling aimed at Indian forward posts and nearby civilian areas.

Indian forces responded with precision fire, effectively silencing the Pakistani guns. No casualties have been reported on the Indian side so far. The situation remains under close observation, with additional troops placed on alert to prevent any further escalation.

The Lipa Valley, located in north Kashmir, has often witnessed such ceasefire breaches in the past. Despite the 2021 bilateral agreement reaffirming the LoC ceasefire, Pakistan continues to resort to unprovoked firing at intervals, raising tensions in the border region.

Military experts believe this latest violation is an attempt to aid cross-border infiltration before heavy snowfall seals off the mountain passes. The Indian Army has reiterated its commitment to maintaining peace but warned that any aggression will be met with a “decisive and proportionate response.”

Meanwhile, residents in the forward villages have been advised to remain vigilant as authorities review safety measures in vulnerable zones.

The Ministry of Defence is likely to take up the issue through established diplomatic and military channels, reaffirming India’s stand on maintaining peace and stability along the LoC while ensuring national security interests remain protected.
