President Droupadi Murmu has described Operation Sindoor as a “defining moment” in India’s evolving counter-terror doctrine, calling the May 2025 precision strikes a clear demonstration of the nation’s resolve against cross-border terrorism. Speaking at a national security forum, she emphasized that the operation showcased the country’s ability to respond swiftly, accurately and with strategic restraint.
Operation Sindoor was executed in the early hours following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 civilian lives. The Indian Armed Forces launched a tightly coordinated strike, targeting and destroying multiple terror camps located inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Military sources noted that the mission-conducted within a sharply controlled timeframe-neutralized key infrastructure used for training, movement and arming of militant groups.
The President highlighted that the operation stood out not only for its military accuracy but also for its conscious effort to avoid civilian harm. She stressed that India seeks peace but will not hesitate to dismantle threats that jeopardize national security or endanger innocent lives.
Security analysts say Operation Sindoor marks a decisive shift in India’s counter-terror policy, signaling that future attacks on Indian soil will draw immediate and proportionate responses. The operation has also been viewed as a powerful convergence of intelligence, diplomacy and military capability, reinforcing India’s stance that terrorism-regardless of its origin-will be met with firm action.
As the geopolitical environment continues to evolve, Operation Sindoor is expected to remain a reference point for India’s strategic posture, symbolizing both moral clarity and operational strength in the face of persistent threats.
