Meet Zoom, An Indian Army Dog Who Got Seriously Hurt Fighting Terrorists In J&K

On Monday, security forces and militants fought in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. During the fight, an Army assault dog was seriously hurt.

Late on Sunday night, there were reports that terrorists were in the Tangpawa area of the south Kashmir district. So, security forces set up a cordon and started looking for them.

Officials said that on Monday morning, the army sent its attack dog Zoom into the house where the militants were hiding.

“Zoom is a very well-trained, fierce, and dedicated dog. Has been trained to find terrorists and kill them, “they told me.

They said that Zoom has been a part of a lot of operations in south Kashmir.

They said that Zoom’s job on Monday was the same as usual: to clear the house where terrorists were hiding.

But, during the operation, the dog was shot twice and was seriously hurt, officials said.

“Zoom found the terrorists and attacked them, which is when the dog got shot twice,” they said.

Officials, on the other hand, said that the dog kept fighting and doing his job, which led to the deaths of two militants.

“Even though he was hurt badly, the brave soldier kept doing his job, which led to the death of two terrorists,” they said.

Zoom was taken to the Army’s Vet Hospital here, where officials say the dog is getting care right now.

During the fight, two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed and the same number of soldiers were hurt.
