Maoist Killed In Confrontation With Security Forces: Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur

An individual thought to be a Maoist was killed by security forces in the Bijapur area of Chhattisgarh on Sunday, according to police.

The police recognized the dead Maoist as Guddu Kawasi. He had a ₹1 lakh reward on his head.

In Bijapur, the gunfight happened in a forest on Sunday morning near the town of Keshkutul, which is in the jurisdiction of the Bhairamgarh police station.

Yadav said, “A group of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) went on an anti-Naxal operation after we heard that Kawasi Pandaru, who is in charge of the Maoists’ division supply team, and about 15 other cadres were in the Keshkutul-Keshmundi forests.”

“As soon as we got there, the Maoists started firing, and the fight began.” The SP said, “After the fighting stopped, the body of a Maoist, a weapon, and explosives were found at the scene.”

Police say that 80 Naxalites have been killed this year in different clashes with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, which includes Bijapur and seven other districts.

In the Kanker area of the region on April 16, 29 Naxalites were killed in a fight with police.
