Two Indian Army personnel sustained injuries after a landmine explosion occurred in the forward area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector near the Line of Control (LoC), defence officials said.
The incident took place in a strategically important border region where Army units remain deployed to maintain security and monitor possible infiltration routes. The injured soldiers were immediately evacuated from the location and provided medical assistance.
The Uri sector in Baramulla district is among the key operational zones along the LoC due to its challenging mountainous terrain and history of security-related incidents. Troops deployed in the area regularly conduct patrols and surveillance operations under difficult conditions.
