The Indian Navy’s ship INS Sumedha arrived at Port Alexandria, Egypt, on September 6 to take part in ‘Exercise BRIGHT STAR-23.’ This shows how India’s military force is growing around the world.
With 34 countries taking part, this multinational Tri-Services military exercise is a historic event. It is the largest joint military exercise that has ever been held in the Middle East and North Africa area.
Ex Bright Star 23 is a very well-thought-out two-part task. Read the Ministry of Defence news release to learn more about the different things that happen during the Harbour Phase. These include cross-deck visits, professional exchanges, sports events, and strategic interactions that help plan and carry out the Sea Phase.
The Sea Phase will include complicated, high-intensity drills like cross-deck flying, anti-surface and anti-air exercises, and live-fire drills with weapons.
The press statement said that this project gives the Indian Navy a great chance to improve and show off its ability to work with partner nations while learning the best ways to do maritime security operations.
This involvement is notable because it is the first time that the Indian Navy has taken part in Exercise Bright Star. Also, it will involve ships from several Friendly Foreign Navies.
The drill, which lasts for two intense weeks, is meant to show that the participating navies are still able to work together as a single force.
It shows that they are both committed to making the world’s oceans safe and stable through joint training and mutual understanding.
The INS Sumedha is led by Commander MC Chandeep. The release said that INS Sumedha is the third Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel (NOPV) from the Saryu class that was made in India.
These ships are known for being able to operate for a long time. They come with the right guns, sensors, and can even carry a helicopter.
The fact that INS Sumedha took part in this foreign exercise shows how good India’s shipbuilding industry is. It also shows the vision of “Aatmanirbhar Bharat,” which means “self-reliant India.”
Exercise BRIGHT STAR-23 shows that India is serious about improving international ties and maritime security. It also shows the world that India is getting better at naval operations and building ships.
As the crew of the INS Sumedha takes part in this huge drill, they play a key role in promoting cooperation, stability, and security in the Middle East and North Africa.
