The guided missile frigate INS Sahyadri of the Indian Navy worked with two French front-line warships for two days in the Arabian Sea as part of a maritime partnership exercise.
Indian Navy officials said on Sunday that the exercise on March 11 and 12 included a wide range of drills at sea, such as cross-deck landings, boarding drills, and seamanship evolutions.
FS Dixmude, an amphibious assault ship from the Mistral class, and FS La Fayette, a frigate from the La Fayette class, were used by the French Navy in the drill.
The Indian Navy said in a short statement that the way the exercise went showed that the two navies work well together and can work together well.
INS Sahyadri has cutting-edge weapons and sensors that allow her to find and stop threats from the air, the surface, and below the surface. The ship is part of the Indian Navy’s Visakhapatnam-based Eastern Fleet.
