India’s Largest Ever Multinational Air Exercise ‘Tarang Shakti’ Begins: Tejas Mk-1 Jet To Participate

‘Tarang Shakti’ Marks a Milestone in International Military Collaboration, Featuring India’s Homemade Tejas Mk-1 Jet

Tarang Shakti, the first-ever multinational air exercise that the Indian Air Force (IAF) held on Indian soil, began yesterday, August 6, at Sulur Air Force Base (AFB) in Tamil Nadu.

It will be an exercise with two parts. From August 6 to 14, the first phase will take place at Sulur AFB. From August 29 to September 14, the second set will take place in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

Air Chief Marshal V R Chaudhari of the Indian Air Force and Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz of the German Air Force opened the international exercise.

This exercise has air forces from all over the world, such as the Royal Air Force, Germany, France, and Spain.

Fighter jets like the Rafale and the Mirage-2000, as well as the home-built Tejas Mk-1, will take part in this exercise.

Indian air exercises are also being held for the first time by the German Air Force.

Also, India has never held an exercise this complicated and big on its own land before.

It is a huge accomplishment for the IAF that they were able to hold an exercise on such a large scale in India, said ACM V R Chaudhari, Chief of the IAF. It’s been a while since we’ve done a multilateral exercise this big with so many countries. The challenge has been met by the Air Force and everyone else who took part.

Chaudhary said in response to a question, “It is not against anyone,” which appears to be a hint that this exercise is not aimed at China. This exercise is not against anyone, said Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz in the same way.

For the same time as the exercise, there will also be an International Defence Aviation Exposition to show off India’s own defense industries.
