The head of the Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO) said on Thursday that India is working with “friendly” countries to improve their defense based on artificial intelligence.
Samir V. Kamat said that India is working with other countries to create tools and do basic study to make AI algorithms better.
The head of DRDO talked about how AI can be used in the defense field and said that it helps with surveillance, cyber security, and preventative maintenance.
“It is becoming more and more important in the offensive action.” “This technology will make a big difference in both how well the military does its job and how efficiently it does it,” he said.

But he added, “I won’t say the names of the countries with which we work, but we work with friendly countries to make AI tools and do basic research to improve the algorithms that go into putting them together.”
When Kamat talked about the dangers of AI, he said that the government is working with a number of universities to create AI-based ways to find cyber intrusions.
“So AI’s biggest threat is online.” A lot of strikes on AI are done by bots that work on AI. He also said, “The same AI can be used in cyber defense.”
