India made a powerful impression on the opening day of the Dubai Airshow 2025, unveiling a broad spectrum of its defence and aviation capabilities on one of the world’s biggest aerospace platforms. Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth is leading the Indian delegation, reinforcing New Delhi’s focus on expanding global partnerships, boosting exports, and strengthening its presence in the international defence market.
Seth inaugurated the India Pavilion, which brings together leading Indian defence organisations, including public-sector giants, private manufacturers, and a strong group of startups. He highlighted that India’s participation reflects the nation’s growing competence in aerospace production, advanced military systems, and technology-driven innovation.
A major highlight of India’s presence this year is the participation of 15 defence startups selected under the iDEX initiative. These young companies are displaying new-age technologies in autonomous systems, aerospace software, drone solutions, and defence manufacturing tools, underlining India’s shift toward innovation-led defence production.
On the operational front, the Indian Air Force is showcasing the indigenously built LCA Tejas fighter aircraft, which is expected to feature in flying displays during the event. The aircraft’s participation strengthens India’s push to position Tejas as a competitive export platform in the global market. The presence of the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team further enhances India’s visibility at the airshow with its signature aerial manoeuvres.
Another key attraction at India’s pavilion is the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system, which continues to attract significant attention from international delegates and potential buyers. The missile’s versatility, operational success, and advanced engineering make it one of India’s most sought-after defence products for global markets.
During the airshow, Sanjay Seth is also engaging with senior officials and delegates from the UAE and other participating nations. Discussions are expected to focus on strengthening defence cooperation, expanding joint production opportunities, and enhancing technological collaboration in areas such as unmanned systems, precision weapons, and next-generation aviation platforms.
India’s strong and coordinated participation at the Dubai Airshow 2025 underscores its ambition to become a major global contributor to the aerospace and defence ecosystem. With a blend of government organisations, established industry players, and forward-looking startups, India is using the international stage to push defence indigenisation, export readiness, and long-term strategic partnerships.
