Joint Drills in Rajasthan Highlight Strategic Collaboration and Counter-Terrorism Readiness

Bikaner, Rajasthan – India and Russia have taken a significant step in bolstering their defence cooperation with the launch of Indra-2025, a large-scale joint military exercise in Mahajan, Rajasthan. The exercise, scheduled from October 6 to 15, focuses on enhancing coordination, tactical efficiency, and counter-terrorism capabilities between the two nations.

The drills involve sophisticated military equipment including T-90 Bhishma tanks, BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, and Russian BTR-82A armored vehicles. The Indian contingent, led by Major General Sanjay Chandra Kandpala, and the Russian delegation, headed by Major General Andrei Kozlov, are collaborating closely in live-fire exercises, strategic maneuvers, and operational planning sessions.

Speaking about the exercise, Major General Kandpala remarked, “Indra-2025 is a testament to the enduring trust and professional synergy between India and Russia. It allows our forces to learn from each other and operate seamlessly in complex scenarios.” Major General Kozlov added, “This exercise strengthens our long-standing defence partnership and reflects our shared commitment to global security and regional stability.”

Indra-2025 not only strengthens military interoperability but also demonstrates both countries’ commitment to joint counter-terrorism initiatives and preparedness for modern warfare challenges. Analysts suggest that such exercises are crucial for enhancing mutual understanding of strategic operations and ensuring readiness against emerging security threats.
